Pride and Prejudice Film and Novel

Hello Friends,

I hope like earlier post troy god and goddess and know we will discuss on the pride and prejudice. Its most beautiful story about family and woman condition in 18th century.

Basically, novel is defined as a long narrative in prose.  Similarly, film is also a narrative that combines both theatrical and dramatic elements. The novel and the film imitate human life. The novel and the film are complementary to each other because they are the works of fiction.  However, both are independent art forms.  Moreover, the adaptation of the novel to the film is a multidisciplinary process. Here, the main focus is on the comparative representation of Pride and Prejudice novel as well as film.

Jane Austen's (1775 - 1817), of her six complete novels, Pride and Prejudice seems to have been her favorite. Austen's finest comedy of manners Pride and Prejudice (1813) is a novel of manners. The novel portrays life in the refined rural society of the early 1800s, and unfolds the initial misunderstandings (and mutual enlightenment) between lively and quick witted Elizabeth Bennet and the haughty Mr Darcy. The story follows the main character Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th century England. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman living near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London. The novel has been accepted by the people of the world.  Its film adaptation, further, made it famous and its popularity reached up to the peak.

Pride & Prejudice (2005) is a British romance film based on jan austin's novel of the same manner. The film is directed by Joe Wright .  Screenwriter Deborah Moggach attempted to make her script as faithful to the novel as possible. However, Wright, the director of the feature film, encouraged greater deviation from the text. The film production companies are - Working Title Films and Studio Canal. The film is produced by Tim Bevan.  Music of the film is composed by Dario Marianelli. The film emphasizes realism and romanticism. However, it has deep roots in familial life. Its declared budget was £22 million while it earned a net gross revenue of $121,147,947. The film depicts five sisters from an English family of landed gentry as they deal with issues of marriage, morality and misconceptions.  The film revolves around its heroine Elizabeth Bennet (actress: Keira Knightley) and the hero Mr Darcy (actor: Matthew Macfadyen). Other important cast in the film are: Mrs Bennet (actress: Brenda Blethyn), Mr Bennet (actor: Donald Sutherland), Mr William Collins (actor: Tom Hollander), Jane Bennet (actress: Rosamund Pike), Catherine (Kitty) Bennet (actress: Carey Mulligan), Lydia Bennet (actress: Jena Malone), Mary Bennet (actress: Talulah Riley), Lady Catherine de Bourgh (actress: Judi Dench), Mr Bingley (actor: Simon Woods), Caroline Bingley (actress: Kelly Reilly), Mr George Wickham (actor: Rupert Friend), Georgiana Darcy (actress: Tamzin Merchant), Elizabeth's friend Charlotte Lucas (actress: Claudie Blakley), Caroline Bingley (actress: Kelly Reilly), Anne de Bourgh (actress: Rosamund Stephen), Colonel Fitzwilliam (actor: Cornelius Booth), Mrs Gardiner (actress: Penelope Wilton), Mr Gardiner Meg (actor: Peter Wight)   etc.
so as you notice film very well adopted novel and represent very nicely in theater. Know there is quite differences like character , film century, marriage proposal so you find out to read and watch both, i hope this information helps you.
